This scene, (in my opinion) is one of the greatest displays of perfect writing (and acting). On first glance it would appear to be a Man vs. Man scene, but no... By not adding dialogue between the Mountain and victim (no words were needed) it carried much more weight, and changed this from Man vs. Man to Man vs Nature. And Nature (in more than one way) Won convincingly. This bit of writing also display how to instantly turn the audience/readers to the side of the villain. George R.R. Martin is a genius. He didn't tell us with the Mountain giving a speech or warning, he showed us, and his action spoke louder than any words.
