Has anyone else seen these fake video debates? There is a whole slew of them and as far as I can tell these debates between Karoline Leavitt, Michelle Obama, Robert de Niro, Morgan Freeman etc. etc. are completely fabricated. But if the comments sections are true, people actually believe these things are real.
I haven't seen the debates. I usually see a lot of fake video in the form of nature "reels" on my feed. Why, or what purpose they serve, I have no clue. It truly is regrettable that it is becoming very difficult to trust anything we see online, and that video and photographic evidence are becoming increasingly worthless. Even audio can't be trusted.
In cases such as the one you posted, I don't think it's too hard to pick it as fake. There is no actual footage of anyone saying anything, just a very obviously dubbed AI voice reading a script probably prepared by AI as well, accompanied by easily obtained images of those named in the script. The really scary ones are where AI is used to generate the image and voice of some celebrity making a speech. These can be almost indistinguishable from the real thing. It could just as easily be a fake of someone robbing a bank or shooting someone.
I saw one being promoted as Karoline Leavitt destroys Rachel Maddow.
Yep, one of the dumbest going around who thinks the Library of Congress lends inappropriate books to children defeats and embarrasses a Rhodes Scholar with an Oxford Doctorate in Political Science.
They're not even good fakes.
