RE: Dress code

What, you've just discovered what an embarrassment he is?

Sleeping during the service was not a good look either.

RE: Dress code

He was not the only head of state to disregard the request to wear black (including all the Muslims wearing their white turbans) but he was the highest profile embarrassment. There is a certain irony that Zelenskyy doesn't change his outfit for anyone, and neither does Trump, and neither did Francis.

RE: Dress code

Nonsense!

Zelensky certainly changed his usual military outfit for something much more formal, although still straying from the dress code..

RE: Dress code

Steve,

There was a story on the news this morning and it said that Zelensky did not fully follow the dress code, because his country was at war. Yes he did wear military style outfits when he met with trump, but I can appreciate that he tried to show his respect for the Pope, by at least wearing all black, and not a military outfit.

trump wore exactly what he wanted to wear...
I'm not at all surprised that he wouldn't follow the dress code, but I was glad to see that his wife did.

The people didn't seem to mind that Zelensky didn't exactly dress as expected, they did welcome him with some applause, which trump did not receive.

I'm not Catholic, but I thought Pope Francis, wore what a man in His high position in the Catholic church was supposed to wear...I certainly wouldn't say the same for trump...
I've never seen Pope Francis in any pictures dressed differently.

I did notice in the background that there were others wearing clothing that didn't follow the dress code, but if they did so because of their religious dress, then I can understand that too.

Its easy to find something to comment about, but I believe Pope Francis, was a man that believed in the same God that I believe in, and that he loved all people...and so I felt a sense of sadness for the Catholic people.

I would like to believe that was why so many heads of state were there to show their respect and be a part of the service.

Just Some Thoughts

RE: Dress code

^ thoughtful points above. Francis was respected for his humility and attention to the downtrodden.
