A Sonnet
Beyond the Cover
I see beyond the cover of his book,
as I intend to read between the lines,
and touch can be more tender thank a look,
when lights are low there are no ageing signs.
And failing light is something I won't fear
I'll close my eyes and taste him on my tongue:
His scent will let me know that he is near,
familiar is his voice, just like a song.
Inside this book, behind the veiled facade,
I delve into the pages to reveal,
the love contained within his precious heart,
beneath the sleeve, abundant writings reel.
My senses seek the truth that hides behind
the cover that intends my eye be blind.
