This Trophy Is Mine

by June Sargent

The contest was rigged! This trophy should have been mine! Everyone knows that a Hercules beetle can lift up to 850 times his own weight! And I'm not the average beetle. I measure 7 inches in length - with my horns being one third of that.

And you give the prize to a Goliath beetle? He measured only 4 measly inches! And for the uneducated judges - Goliath didn't do that well in the Bible. He was knocked down by a few stones and lost his head as a result. But Hercules was the son of Zeus and is definitely a superhero in anyone's book.

I am going to lodge a formal complaint and demand an investigation. I deserve to be honored as the G.O.A.T. in the insect world. The Greatest Of All Time!  And I will be the one in a parade riding on a Boston Duck Boat like Tom Brady!
