Soldiers walk amongst the living.

There is no death

by Aussie

Sparkling clean sands
Sands of Gallipoli
Gallipoli still haunted
Haunted by fallen soldiers

Soldiers sigh, walk into the sea
Sea opens her arms to pacify
Pacify wounded hearts
Hearts still beat in readiness

Readiness to feel loved ones
One's grieving for lost soldiers
Soldiers in spirit touching
Touching loved ones gently

Gently with longing, they say
Say, remember me always
Always think about life
Life? I am not dead, I see you...

Emotions Poetry Contest contest entry

Contest Entry for Emotions Poetry. Australia stops at 11 am on the 11th day of the 11th month (November). Every November, we stop and remember the Australians and New Zealanders who fought for us. On the beaches of Gallipoli, where our boys died, the waters sparkle, the sand no longer stained by blood. And our enemies are now our friends.
The ANZAC service calls on all people to spend time in reflection on the selflessness of those young men who died for us to have the freedom we have today.
ANZAC means AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND ARMY CORPS.
Pays one point and 57 member cents.
