Free verse, sporadic rhymes,
Blind Is The Love
Are you waiting on me, perhaps?
Thought I'd be able to pen
A romantic poem,
Filled with love.
Experience a dramatic change
With perhaps tips from above.
With a fully opened mind,
While watching, "Love is Blind",
I listened to all these
Nit-picking bouts between couples.
Who chose each other, totally unseen,
Falling in love behind a walled screen.
Then fell all over each other
At the first time they met.
When they were already engaged,
Without having a kiss or hug, yet.
All I saw, between heavy lines,
Was a frenzied, pick and win,
Get engaged, blind-time behind the wall.
Then go together to an all-paid charade.
A paradise, that's in a warm location.
With a billowing bed comforter
To get lost in and hide from cameras.
Let's wait for the first arguement.
They're sculpting, for an everlasting marriage
In less than 2 months, maybe 1, away.
From the minute these singles
Parked their cars and entered the Pods;
With determination and flirting,
They pick a mate
That they think can make,
Fun times,
Eating and smooching in the sun.
Then perform as an exotic Angel or
White Knight, in white-satin shorts
And show off their best catch.
Let's see where they go.
Securing their love to family and friends
While sharing a hand-picked home, they
Struggle to fit their lives together.
Even have trials with their pets!
Imagine ending the relationship
Only 2 weeks before the wedding,
'Cause Harley's not slopping a kiss
Or Prissy is sneaking in, bed-wetting?
For the few that make it to dress-up,
The hunt is on for that Cinderella, poof-dress or
Perhaps a slinky, sexy, mermaid gown.
That I'm sure most viewers enjoyed.
As well as women drooling over
The guy in a shiny, sleak-tailored suit.
Some deep purple, baby blue, grey,
Or a traditional Black or white tux.
Before you know it, couples disperse.
No wedding day for them.
It's the remaining couples, still alive
And who can jump into the ring blind,
That are both needed, to say yes.
Allowing the results to be shared,
In the, "I Do" proof, statistics!
The "Love is Blind" journey,
Comes to an end.
The process has a successful couple,
Maybe, even a few,
That were able to say, "I DO"!
All this love that was so unexpected
And freely given,
To the point of getting engaged;
How then, does it die so easily
Only to break up
Over a pitiful excuse?
This has me pulling out my hair!
Why are they so nuts to say yes
In the first place?
Within a ten day span for choosing
The best humor and voice, is it enough time?
Do you think you can fall in love
With someone, that has the best lines?
Until you finally see them,
Face to face, you can feel the love.
Then you try a kiss and a hug or 2.
Now things are starting to feel wrong
Or right, if they still do
Or, are they really gone?
Duh, yank, yank, I hate stupidity
And phoney, baloney, people!
I think there are other words
That cover that strong feeling
You may develop, within a week
Of meeting a stranger;
Infatuation, crush, loneliness, boredom,
Knees are weak, head spinning, lust,
Sexual deprivation/nymphomaniac tendency
To mention a few.
AHHHHHHHH!!
So, I'm getting the broom now.
Just saying,
Love!
