We need more self-talk

Manual for ego control

by Cogitator

Taming the Ego

A mirror mind, the mask we wear,
A whisper caught in mortal air,
The false self is from dust and dream,
Unseen, it rules the human scheme.

It feeds on praise, on fear, on fame,
It trembles at the hint of blame;
The soul’s bright voice, a muted chord,
Drowned out by our ego’s discord

Two chambers hum within the skull,
One coldly sharp, one warm and full;
Between them flows the sacred stream—
The bridge where thought and spirit dream.

The ego leaps before the heart,
Making judgments tears truth apart;
For truth endures beyond our end,
A silent, ever-faithful friend.

The universe keeps perfect law,`
Balance and Sequence, free from flaw;
When one side tips, the other strives—
Thus, harmony sustains all lives.

This motion births the cosmic plan,
The pulse that shapes both star and man;
GOD—Grand Design, unseen, yet near,
The voice beyond both doubt and fear.

Our bodies—borrowed clay and flame,
Atoms dancing without a name;
The dust of Earth, the breath of skies,
One rhythm where all forms arise.

If every void in us were sealed,
Our size—a teaspoon’s worth revealed;
If Earth herself was collapsed too,
Would fit within a single shoe.

Yet ego, blind, denies this part,
And sets its throne within our heart;
It seeks to own, to hoard, to rule,
A tyrant trained in mortal school.

The wise have learned to tune its sound,
To break the chains that keep it bound;
They know that truth can’t be possessed,
Only received once self is less.

Five senses spin the web we weave,
Through touch and sight, we first believe.
But deeper still the silence calls,
Beyond the masks, the body’s walls.

Helen Keller had lost her sight,
Saw deeper into boundless light;
She proved that vision is the soul,
Not eyes that see, but hearts made whole.

She taught: live now, before you fade,
Let every sense be brightly played;
Taste every dawn as if the last,
Let love make sacred all that’s passed.

The heart opens when ego dies,
It joins the truth and drops disguise.
The boundless sea receives our wave,
Oligarchs bow when slaves are brave.

Egos unite in fear and pride,
They mock the light they can’t abide;
But when they fall, the world can heal,
And love again will make us kneel.

Let’s  love living, let stillness reign,
And end the endless dream of pain;
When self dissolves, all life will sing—
Heaven on Earth, awakening.
