Write a Senru. A poem that follows the five, seven, and five syllable count (5, 7, 5). 17 syllables in all. Senryu is usually written in the present tense and only references to some aspect of human nature or emotions.

If you listen to how much emotion Joplin sings the song, it feels she is identifing herself with the little girl in the song.
