Why is Diversity important?

          Diversity is important in the Workplace because it proves that we live in the greatest country in the world. Where people from all races, nationalities and cultures can come together and accomplish a goal that betters mankind.

          When we work with people from other cultures, we get to learn new things such as religion, food, customs and the way other people live. When we can all learn these things, it allows those racial barriers and prejudices in our world to dissolve the way we think of other people.

          Learning about other people and cultures is an education within itself. It can shed light on why other people live the way they do. It helps us understand each other’s ways, and allows us to communicate more openly about the things we all believe in. Communication is the highway to our souls, and it sets us free when we can tell people something that has been bothering us, or we can share some happy news with each other.        

          Sometimes it is harder to communicate among people of diverse cultures because of a language barrier, but when that barrier can be broken, the freedom begins. There are times when people misunderstand each other and this can be because of diverse languages. However, when we work together, we need to make that effort to understand each other and it relieves stress, frustration and anxiety at work, or in the business world.

          I love to learn about people and new cultures. I have been to 26 foreign countries, and I have learned something new from every country. I have learned about religions, cultures, customs and the different types of money that support an economical system. It is very interesting when you have a diverse group to work with and learn from each other. I think this would help solve a lot of the world’s problems if people worked together and got to know each other’s ways and customs. It opens so many doors to the world and creates new experiences for everyone involved.

          So, Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace are very important for all of us. We need to take this opportunity to learn as much as we can from each other. We are all fortunate to have such a diverse Workplace. There are people from different states and countries that work among us, and they all have their own diverse experiences in life. 

          People should not let race, skin color, language, religion or even politics keep them from communicating with one another. We all must live among each other. And the differences we hold within our customs and diversities can enrich our lives more than we know. However, that is why we must communicate and interact with one another. This is where Diversity and Inclusion is very important among us. It is also very important in our Workplace because we have a very diverse organization to work in as well.
