I was a golf course superintendent for a few years, then became a computer programmer and systems analyst where I did a lot of technical writing. I loved that part of the job, but after I retired there wasn't a need for it anymore.

It's a complicated world now

Streaming Woes

Streaming services today
are so complex I have to say
I often wish for simpler times of yore.
I am finding my new Roku
tougher than advanced Sudoku.
It has got me flustered to the core.

Golfers like to watch the Majors,
but to stream them, there’s no favors.
Each one’s on a diff'rent service. Man!
I must take out four subscriptions.
It is giving me conniptions.
What I need’s a single service plan.

There was one I used to purchase:
YouTube TV for that purpose,
it was comprehensive, certainly.
But the cost became obtrusive,
to my wallet so abusive,
I decided it was not for me.

Amazon and Apple TV,
Netflix, Hulu, even FreeVee:
Oh, so many choices hurt my head.
Should I start a brand-new series?
Far too many make me weary.
Maybe I’ll just read a book instead.
