Chapter 6 to Bright Side Book
A chapter in the book Bright Side Poems

A Senior Look on the Bright Side

by Debi Pick Marquette

Are you depressed; have you been sad

Most hopeless feeling you have had

Grandkids no longer come to play

And yet it feels like yesterday

What is this senior life about

When your health watch tells you watch out

God will help sadness to subside

Some humor helps find the Bright Side

Shrunk four inches; you once were tall

At least now it's not far to fall

And if someone drives you crazy

It's time to take away their key

That co-worker who was a jerk

You won't see him, cause you don't work

Think positive, no need to frown

If you trip, try not to stay down

If your cup's even close to half

That's half of what you need to laugh

And if it's hard to fall asleep

Then count blessings instead of sheep

It's always easier to smile

Our friendships here are all worthwhile

Your life's a gift from Him who died

His love helps you find your Bright Side
