His name's Lee Allen Hill, but Humpwhistle is his pen-name
2010 joined FanStory, and since he's earned some fame
It's only fitting when Humpwhistle's Birthday's on Humpday
That we would honor him in a biographical way
With quite a list of contest wins he's had since he's been here
And more accomplishments, with three times "Writer of the Year"
He's six foot-five, a pony tail, and he wears a big smile
You'll never hear him brag of this, but giving is his style
He is from the Northeast, from the state of Connecticut
And if you ask Lee's friends, they'll say that he can be a nut
If he is writing dialogue, his humor often shows
His dialect and accents are specifics that he knows
His sister, Linda, is the most important in his life
A few of his relationships, may have ended in strife
His music has to mean as much as his passion to write
A perfect harmony of all his talents that delight
His buddies, Mark and Steve, are with him in a band, "Old Hat"
We leave next week, so, Lee, will you fly in and watch my cat
When he's more serious, he writes a lot more non~fiction
When telling about women in his life, there's more friction
To quote him is to say that, "Good fiction is a Good lie"
And "Great fiction's a Greater lie" our Lee is a smart guy
A die-hard-Boston Red Sox fan, where his parents would spark
His dad says Lee was conceived there, at Boston's, Fenway Park
Lee was a folksinger hippie back in the Seventies
Creative director of advertising agencies
He left the world of commerce; he'd retake his Hippie Vows
He concentrates on short stories and now for us he "Wows!"
With friends, wrote "12 New Christmas Stories ~ their Anthology"
They're lovely stories, real or not, some are mythology
Past credits, published, weekly slots at a Writers Showcase
Wherever you find Humpwhistle, he's happy in his space
Let us close this with thanking Lee the very best we can
And Happy Birthday to an extraordinary man
Whether this poem's on your iPad, computer or smartphone
Like Dylan, Lee knew deep inside, we're all complete unknown
A quick, delightful read packed with humor, heart, and sibling antics. If youve got a sister - or just love a good laugh - youll find these stories irresistibly relatable.
