Indifference

by Y. M. Roger

     Imagination's born of life
Not what is, but what could be,
     Delib'rate dreams of future days
     Inhibited by troubled seas...
For in those waters, rough and dark
     Future plans and pictures rise,
     Each bombarded, beaten, bruised as
     Reality again denies...
     Ev'ry time a longing's lost, hope's
     Naked conscious folds,
     Creating ersatz smiles within
     Eyes that once held marigolds.

Acrostic Poetry Contest contest entry

2025

Been crazy busy with the holidays/company/work, but jumped on today and saw the acrostic contest coming up... had to give it a try! Will pop in and out since things are almost back to normal, but will really 'be back' toward the end of next week when my youngest goes back to college... Miss you all!! And, as always, thank you for reading me! :-) :-)
