Before the Storm

Write a story that takes place in the hours leading up to - and, if you choose, through - a life-changing event. The main character knows it's coming. How they deal with it is up to you.

Guidelines:

• This can be any kind of event: a breakup, a job interview, a storm, a surgery, a confession, or something else entirely.
• The character must be aware the event is coming.
• The story can end before or after the event happens - your choice.
• Prose only.

The winner takes away a $100 cash prize. All writers will receive feedback for their submission.
